The Auto Advantage was founded by Hal Gordon in 1986. He recognized the need for a direct private party sale to maximize a car's value, as opposed to a dealer's wholesale trade-in offer. He also realized that many people had neither the time, desire, nor skill to sell their own vehicle for full value.
With this as a cornerstone, Auto Advantage has grown in experience and expertise, covering the greater Chicagoland area, southern Wisconsin, and northern Indiana, with a sales force of qualified men and women.
Matthew Gordon, Hal's son, joined the company in 1988. He trained an expanded sales force and added services for corporate and institutional accounts. Matthew is currently president of the company.
The Auto Advantage has been and continues to be a member of the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce.
